Sales and trading professionals focus on buying and selling on the secondary market, including the purchase of existing financial products and securities. The pace on the trading floor is frenetic. Here’s the core areas of work on the desk:
- Sales: Maintain relationships with institutional investors and match the firm’s services / products to the client’s needs. Team with trading and research to provide comprehensive client coverage, including fulfilling client requests for market updates, pricing, executing client orders and providing institutional clients with information about specific securities; provide marketing ideas and help initiate transactions
- Trading: Help senior traders cover institutional accounts. Make markets in the group’s range of products. Help assess and actively manage client risk risk, liquidity and exposure. Constantly evaluate market developments in order to give clients accurate product information
- Structuring/Quantitative: Create tailored investment strategies using conventional cash and derivative credit products for clients. Learn to structure complex products and creativity develop new products that address clients near- and long-term needs.
